According to J.C. Murphy: This 1910 cartoon "that so aptly illustrates the achievements in power of corporate combination in Montana, was produced by the late A. L. Lovey ... The acquirement of the mining property (owned by W. A. Clark in Butte) by the Amalgamated Company almost completely perfects the monopoly control of developed copper industry in this state. The significance of this change in the industrial and political life of Montana will form a chapter in the story of the corporate conquest of Montana.”
